For as long as I can remember, I was always “the bigger girl”…

As a kid, I was the chubby tomboy with thicker thighs. I always felt highly aware that I was heavier than all my friends, all the time.

Diets and weight loss were a constant conversation in my household. Before I’d graduated high school I had already attempted multiple diets. A combo of a growth spurt, and being active in sports allowed me to “thin out” somewhat, but it never felt like enough.

In my Freshman year of University. I stopped playing sports, I was making all my own (often poor) food choices, and I was partying more. A LOT MORE.

What can I say? I’m a beer gal, and started packing on the pounds gaining the notorious Freshman15 (and then some!)

After completing an Honours Psychology degree

I wasn’t sure what to do with “the rest of my life”.
I always had a passion for food and cooking, so I decided to pursue further education in nutrition.

I graduated top of my class as a Registered Holistic Nutritionist

and was using everything I’d learned to follow a “clean eating” diet and lost all the weight…AGAIN.

I quickly realized that I was “ahead of the times”. Whenever I’d talk about “natural nutrition” my family and friends thought I was CRAZY. I worked for a few years at a health food store, but retail just wasn’t my thing.

No one had even heard of foods like “kale” or “quinoa” before - and I felt an immense pressure like I had to somehow convince them it’s healthy. It was so discouraging, and I didn’t have the confidence or patience to educate people that simply didn’t care or want to hear it

It was a never-ending All-Or-Nothing cycle…

I fell into a weird binge/overeat then restrict pattern. My bad old eating habits would collide with my newly acquired nutrition knowledge.

I would binge for a few weeks on whatever processed, junk foods I wanted then do 2-week box cleanses to try and “fix it”.

This lead to severe Imposter Syndrome. How could I possibly give nutrition advice to anyone if I can’t follow it myself? Despite having a deep knowing in my soul that I am meant to help people - I felt like a total fraud, and I gave up.

I’d worked previously as a dog walker, so I gave up my passion and switched careers completely to open a pet care business instead.

I was unmotivated, unfulfilled, and wanted to stay numb…

For the next 5 years, I was still in the pattern of bingeing on food and alcohol for weeks, then doing box cleanses to make up for it.

I was making just enough money to “get by”, living in a bad apartment situation, and my long-term relationship was constantly on the rocks.

I felt stuck in every area of my life, and my weight climbed to 200lbs…

I was desperate to change something, ANYTHING.

I joined a CrossFit gym, and started working out 4x a week with a trainer. I was definitely getting stronger, but not REALLY seeing any results!

The saying really is true - “you can’t out-train a bad diet”.

I stumbled across the ketogenic diet on social media…

I had learned about it in nutrition school for epileptic children, but had never heard of people using it as a tool for weight loss.

I started “stalking” some accounts online to see what these people were eating to get such fantastic results! After 6 months of doing my own research to make sure this truly was a healthy “diet”, I decided to go ALL-IN on keto.

On July 12, 2018 (that very first “Before” picture above) was my first day of my ketogenic life - and I’ve never looked back!

It has allowed me to heal my relationship with food. To no longer even consider it a “diet” but my TRUE healthy lifestyle.

It felt like such a relief to not only find something that worked, but something I could actually maintain and enjoy!

I lost over 40lbs in 8 months, and have MAINTAINED it for over 3 years

Now I help women lose weight on keto, without giving up carbs forever!

I teach women how to heal their relationship with food, body image, and create daily keto routines that get RESULTS.
